For your first post to our course blog, I’d like you to get into pairs and interview one of your classmates. Using the questions we generated together as a class, take about ten minutes to ask your classmate more about him- or herself. In addition to the usual questions about who he or she is, where she or he is from, or what he or she does for fun, please pay particular attention to this person’s past experiences as a writer. What does your classmate remember about his or her previous writing instruction? What kinds of writing appeals (or doesn’t) to your classmate? Why? What meaningful or significant experiences has he or she had with writing? As well, ask questions about your classmate’s previous experience or interest in service-learning or volunteering for community-based organizations. Perhaps most importantly, try to learn more about this person’s experience with the issue of homelessness and what he or she hopes to learn as a writer, researcher, or civically engaged person by taking this course.
Once you complete both interviews, spend the next 20 minutes writing a profile (aim for 250-350 words) that vividly represents your classmate. Whatever issues you focus on, take care with this short piece, for it is our first impression of you as a writer, as well as the first impression of the person you interviewed. Have fun with this piece—make it interesting! Use quotes, brief stories, and any other vivid details you can discover to enrich your profile of this person.
Gabe Rusk is a recent graduate of George Washington High School's prestigious International Baccalaureate Programme and a student at the University of Denver. Gabe along with his partner, were the 2010 champions in the highest level of competition for public forum style debate, at the Tournament of Champions. Gabe is pursuing a degree in both philosophy and gender and women's studies with the hope of going to law school. Through his church work in Uganda with under-priviledged and special needs children and in Mexico City with people struggling with poverty, Gabe has seen the need to protect individuals against discrimination- a need he hopes to fill with his law work.
ReplyDeleteWhile in obvious possession of intimidating intellectual capabilities, Mr. Rusk has anything but a one track mind. He is an avid collector of old books on history and philosophy, spends time with his beloved spaniel, cries while watching his favourite romance films, plays video games, and campaigns viciously against jay-walkers- at least when he's driving. He also enjoys listening to today's top hits including his all-time favourite: Lady Gaga. Although Gabe was not much of an athlete in high school, he was something of a debating legacy (as mentioned above) and managed even to beat the top-quality debate team at Lakewood High School on numerous occasions. It was with this background that he debated briefly for the DU debate team with whom he travelled to Idaho and Utah. That being said, he concentrates most of his efforts now on being a darn good college freshmen without the stresses of debate.
As previously noted, Gabe has done work overseas with those struggling with poverty. It is with these experiences that he is participating in Writ 1633 "The Gender of Homelessness". This class presents an opportunity for him to delve into a different aspect of his major while employing past knowledge. In addition to this, Gabe brings a strong writing background to this class as evidenced by his completion of an IB Extended Essay (dissertation) on philosophy.
For my interview I was matched with Danni, a classical piano major who is a first year at DU from Ohio. Here is her profile as crafted from the short interview time we were given in class.
ReplyDeleteDanni’s experience with piano playing started at the early age of four. This eventually grew into a deep love for the instrument and by her senior year of high school she performed a 70 minute recital, for a crowd of over 100, all from memory. As indicated by her major Danni has a specific love of classical piano, which she hopes will take her to travel Vienna, the capital of classical music. She also has set the goal of achieving her Masters and or Doctorate degree in Classical Piano and eventually use that degree to teach and perform, with a focus on the latter. She also greatly admires her piano professor, for her strength and rich family history.
When she is not tickling the ivories, Danni enjoys knitting and reading. Among her favorite books are Atlas Shrugged and 1984. She also enjoys spending time with her dog Josie, who she calls Dogger, a chow-akita mix who makes noises which Danni compared to that of a Wookie. Her favorite shoes are her Converse, and she enjoys autumn in Ohio because of the vibrant colors and prefers the summers in Colorado because the contrast the dryness offers compare to the humidity of Ohio.
Danni tested out of Writ last quarter and is taking this class to improve her writing skills. She hopes to continue aligning them with that of higher education.
Lastly, if Danni were Wiley E. Coyote and was attempting to capture Road Runner, she would, very fittingly, drop a grand piano on him.
Mike Nutt believes there are only two important seasons in the year: winter and summer. He is an enthusiast for outdoor sports. He spends his winters snowboarding in Colorado and his summers wakeboarding and windsurfing on Lake Geneva, or what he refers to as home. He enjoys all types of water sports even despite a near drowning experience in his childhood. When he was four years old, Mike fell off a dock during a friendly competition race with his older brother. While his parents enjoyed their day on the boat, Mike struggled in the water for half an hour until a family of bystanders pulled him out. He has since forgiven the incident and now says family is a significant part of his life. Aside from his parents and two brothers, Mike also spends substantial amounts of time with his extended family on his mother’s side, especially during summers at the lake. In the down time between his two favorite seasons, Mike puts his energy towards getting his psychology degree.
ReplyDeleteMike’s previous writing experiences have been primarily in WRIT 1122 and 1133 classes. He has also done several writing pieces for various psychology classes. Though most of his past experiences have been research papers it is not necessarily his favorite type of writing. He would much prefer to write essays that voice more of his owns thoughts and opinions as appose to an essay that synthesizes someone else’s.
Mike brings to the class not only his expertise in writing, but also previous experience working with those who are homeless. Last spring, he took part in Project Homeless Connect at DU. He was surprised see the variety of people who came to the event and to hear their stories of how they had reached that point in their life. In this class he hopes to learn even more about homelessness and its association with gender, as well as how to properly use commas.
Siena is a declared art and journalism major here at DU. At 5'8 1/2" she will only wear high heels on special occasions with a tall enough date. Siena is a laid-back, soft-spoken Aries with a very calm personality. When asked what flavor ice cream she would be if she were one her response was, "Vanilla because it's simple and goes with everything." Currently she lives off-campus with a fat cat named Alice in an apartment decorated with a good deal of purple. Purple, Siena guesses, is her favorite color. Major hobbies of Siena include playing guitar/making music, yoga, and tattoos. She also explained that she is getting involved in a community garden soon so that she can add gardening to that list, which has so far proved difficult living in an apartment. Her biggest pet-peeve is when people she barely knows text her very detailed or personal things about their life, which is truthfully quite annoying.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to writing, Siena has been keeping a personal journal nearly everyday since she was around thirteen-years-old. Other than journaling, she also writes songs in her free time. However, she does not mind writing essays or research papers as long as they are on interesting topics.
As of yet, Siena has not had very much service learning experience or worked with the homeless. From this course and working at "The Gathering Place" she hopes to gain this experience and learn more about this issue. Additionally, Siena wants to improve her writing through constructive feedback. She spoke about how frustrating it is to receive blatant grades on papers without any real comments on what was good or bad within the work. Therefore, Siena hopes to be pushed toward becoming a better writer through this course.
As an English major here at DU, Jessie Grebe is already well on her way to becoming an accomplished writer. This November, as a part of the National Novel Writing Month, she finished her very first novel, a work in length of over 150 pages! Other writing experiences include an AP Literature course in high school and WRIT 1622 this past quarter. She hopes that this course will help her to improve her writing as much as possible, academic writing in particular. Upon graduation, Jessie hopes to become a novelist, but would also like to get her Master’s in American Literature in order to teach abroad and write travel books. Jessie also has a strong liking for books, her favorites being The Great Gatsby, East of Eden, and Twelfth Night. In addition to books and reading, Jessie also enjoys photography and was the photographer for her high school newspaper. She also loves outdoor activities, such as hiking, kayaking, sports, playing with her dog, and just being active! Jessie also has strong ties to her Irish and Italian roots. Her dog is named Aurla, which is Gaelic for “golden princess,” a fitting name for a golden retriever – lab mix. If given the opportunity to travel anywhere, Jessie would go to Ireland and Italy, since that is where she ultimately comes from. Jessie says that she looks up to her Grandpa, because even at the age of 80, he has a Facebook and even built his own house.
ReplyDeleteHe has never let his age stop him, and this is something that Jessie very much admires. Lastly, Jessie also admires Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers, because let’s face it – if he can win the Superbowl without Brett Favre, what can’t he do?
Lauren Friend is a lover of learning. As a psychology and criminology major, she finds great fascination in the way people’s minds work. However, she does not simply limit herself to psychology classes to learn more about people. She thinks getting out into the real world and completing service learning is a key part to gathering her knowledge of people. One of her inspirations for helping people is Patch Adams. Although she does like the movie, she enjoys researching the real man as well. She admires his compassionate heart and equal treatment of all people.
ReplyDeleteLoving to escape from the norm, Lauren took a year off from college and travelled alone to Australia. She went “with nobody and nothing” and learned how to be “independent.” For Lauren, her life has revolved around her relationships with others, but this trip gave her a new sense of personal understanding. One of her proudest moments also occurred on this trip. She went skydiving “ the first day” of the trip and forced herself out of her comfort zone right from the very start. She is now an avid fan of skydiving and letting go of her side that yearns “control.”
Lauren is passionate about how people judge others before really figuring out the whole picture. She works at a school for “troubled kids” where she acts as a volunteer with the therapy and teaching process. Through this, she has learned how prejudgment can cause you to lose out on getting to know wonderfully unique people. She has a particular love for Latin American people and wishes she could be a part of their culture. She loves the music, cooking and the dancing. For a service learning project, Lauren visited Latin America and helped build a wall around a well the people use constantly. While there, she fell in love with the people and met and learned to not judge people by their initial actions. Finally, she loves to access her creative side through painting and writing music for the piano.
She would like to be able to improve her arguments for writing and find strong support for her arguments. She would like to use this course as a service learning opportunity as well as a time to become a better writer.

ReplyDeleteIf Kelsey were an ice cream flavor she would be mint chocolate-chip, because it’s awesome; and so is she. A creative writing major at DU, Kelsey has many unique interests. She likes writing short stories, and is full of ideas for them. Even when she reads books by others she always has thoughts on how to change the story that has been written. She loves quirky, dark movies, and is especially obsessed with “A Softer World,” an online comic. She has a great quote from this comic tattooed on her back: “There are no words sweeter than this. Nothing lasts forever.” Tattoos and piercings are also some of Kelsey’s hobbies. In addition to the quote, she has a pink bow tattooed on her lower back. When people ask about this tattoo, Kelsey likes to leave them with the mysterious answer, “It’s my statement on feminism.” She wants to get a tattoo of her astrological sign, Aquarius, someday soon. One of her pet peeves is when people get bad tattoos that they later will regret. She also hates when people smoke cigarettes around her; while she does not judge others’ life choices, she just hates the smell.
ReplyDeleteKelsey is in this class to challenge herself as a writer and to gain more experience working with organizations that serve the homeless community. The only similar experience she has had was through her church youth group when she was in middle school. Now very non-religious, she wants to become involved with serving the community in a more secular environment. She resents the idea held by some that religious groups are the only ones who care or provide service to those in need.
Kelsey is from Golden, Colorado, where her parents, two dogs, and very fat cat still live. She misses her pets living at DU, and hopes to be able to get a place of her own off campus next year.

ReplyDeleteIt would be an understatement to suggest music only defines George Arvidson's life and future. From high school, into college, and into his promising future this Eastman and Julliard accepty has a multi-faceted voice. George is currently in Sideshow at DU, instantly recognizable to me due to his stand up and stand out performance in the show. Professionally or through the schools he has attended George has used this same voice ,which he now focuses on here at DU , to express his passion of vocal performance. George found his favorite performance to be the obvious lead in Dr. Jekyll Mr. Hyde due to the dramatic challenges and creative outlet it provided him. Asking him to name just one artist or a band that he love seemed daunting to George, illustrating a vast and probably intimidating breadth of knowledge in the spectrum of music. Beyond music George is intuitively clever and intelligent beyond his years illustrated from his Raspberry Sorbet fruity and tangy character, and entrapment of Road Runner using dating services and an obvious cavalier. George comes to DU as a dual-citizen, his upstanding and role model mother being of UK citizenship. From playing tennis, to hiking, and playing piano George enters this writ class with a preference of writing musicology than a proverbial rhetoric paper. While he is no novice to writing, indicated in outstanding IB scores and a extended essay on homosexuality in the Weimar Republic, he is looking to form his writing more carefully with interviews and narratives. Despite having little experience with service learning he has worked with homeless shelters and other non-profits through his Church indicating an already inherent pursuit in service itself. For those lucky enough woo George over with some Vietnamese food, bread, and a trip to New Zealand.
ReplyDeleteAspen adores the gentle manatee; she has kindly adopted two manatees, Vector and Ariel. Aspen plans to professionally support “Save the Manatees” and other nonprofits through a career in Public Relations. As an enthusiastic and kind speaker, she will have no trouble gathering an interested audience of all ages by reciting her poems about manatees.
ReplyDeleteAspen is engaging to speak with because of her experience and kindness. She has experience volunteering for groups like the Butterfly Pavilion; Aspen is especially gifted with young children. She chose this class to increase her experience with volunteering and issues of Gender and Homelessness, as well as challenge herself as a writer. Aspen does not necessarily enjoy revision, a skill that she plans to work on throughout the course.
At the Gathering Place, Aspen is interested to hear the stories of women: What situations do the different women come from? What diverse reasons brought them to the Gathering Place? What are their personal goals and plans for the future?
Aspen has many other special interests: eating frozen yogurt with lots of toppings; indulging in chocolaty chocolate ice cream with a glass of water on the side; driving with other competent and observant motorists.
Maddie Spilman is an energetic character with many passions and interests. She is enjoying her first year at DU as a double major in Theatre and International Studies.
ReplyDeleteMaddie is a very outgoing and compassionate girl, who truly values the time she spends with friends. She loves to be social, and is a member of DU’s Delta Delta Delta sorority. She holds the “Sponsor Chair” and is a member of the Next Generation Committee, a nation-wide organization for the Greek system.
One fun fact about her is that she shares a special connection with her running shoes. Maddie has a history with every pair she’s owned, and they each tell a different story. She ran throughout high school and is currently training for a half-marathon!
Maddie comes from a large family of four brothers and one sister. Though she is not entirely blood related to all of them, she feels just as close to them as if she were. Over the past year, she has really grown to admire her parents and looks up to them.
Maddie is a strong writer who has the ability to bring her own voice into her writing. She has learned from previous instructors that she needs to improve on her organization, but she has taken the constructive criticism well and is building off of what she has learned.
If she had the choice to travel anywhere, it would be Africa. Her interest first sparked when she noticed an African vase in a Nicole Kidman movie. The small notion has turned into a strong passion for the culture that she still pursues today. Maddie’s true passion lies in helping the homeless and reaching out to the community. One of her goals is to lead a well-rounded life. Though she is an excellent student and enjoys her social life, she also volunteers. Her community group works at a public high school where they pass out blankets, lunches, and teach civic engagement. Such an experience has really opened her eyes to how the education system has failed to provide for some schools. She is also looking forward to beginning a mentorship with a middle school student in a couple of weeks through a program called Smart Gals.
Here's Maddie's profile of Trina:
ReplyDeleteNo doubt the words "athletic and serious" would be words to describe freshman Trina Stewart if asked from an outsider. Trina considers herself to be a “serious, good student” and her impressive list of outdoorsman hobbies such as being an officer of the Alpine Club, skiing, biking and rock climbing certainly do contribute to her self-describing “outdoorsy, energetic, and enthusiastic” personality. The quirky biker’s tan she gets in the summer and the fact that she is going to the gym right after class to get some cardio in for the day, only stress even more that being active is a part of her identity. But what she wishes others knew and what I began to discover, was there was a lot more to her than on the surface.
First, she is majoring in International Studies because she is passionate about the welfare of Africa (children and poverty most touches her), and is planning on living in Africa for five to ten years helping with social work after she leaves college. Tom’s shoes are “an obsession” and sparked a curiosity to learn about developing countries when she was 15, followed by an AP Language research assignment she worked on her junior year researching poverty in Africa. Her heart is clearly in Africa and I have no doubt that she will do amazing things within the continent.
Some surprising things about her are that she paints, saying it is her “medium to explore” and is fascinated by realistic paintings, loves mango sorbet and cookies and cream ice cream, is a self-described “goof,” and though she loves to read Harry Potter- Steinbeck and Jane Austen also fill her bookshelf. She looks up to her 22 year old sister, saying she is most proud of all that her sister has accomplished and loves her parents and her dogs Susie, Chaps, and Eli. Favorite colors are in my opinion, of the most revealing questions one can ask because of the accuracy it describes one’s personality and hers were no different. As she talks of whether it depends on clothes or gadgets or the current fave (wine, dark red) - she cannot choose just one. Just like her, she refuses to limit herself to one definition. She is diverse and holistic, just like her color choices.
Nermina is a strong individual with a passion for being part of the community. She has a warm, inviting smile and a good sense of humor that makes her approachable to anyone. Her charisma comes from both being a delightful personality as well as confident young woman. It seems that she gained these traits from both her mother and older sister, both of whom she admires a great deal. After moving to the states from Bosnia ten years ago with her family she has encountered some hard times though. Her mom always pushed her forward and kept her hope going even in the most trying of times while her sister remained someone she could rely on for support and advice. Her family is a large part of her life and she greatly enjoys being a part of the community at large, treating them much like her own relatives.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that Nermina truly loves being involved in the community and hopes to see more of the world while continuing to expand her global view. One of Nermina’s passions is travel. Seeing new cultures and meeting new people is fascinating to Nermina. She hopes to see the world, but is especially interested in going to Northern Africa. She says that the culture in that area is what she finds the most interesting. Their sense of community and being a part of the whole as opposed to being individuals really appeals to Nermina. Her other passion in life is music. She feels like language barriers can be overcome in music and that emotions can be expressed even if you do not understands the words.
Nermina’s sense of community lends to her already considerable personal strength. She is obviously excited to begin helping in our community here in Denver and give back to the people who live here.
Katherine Taylor’s heart of gold leads her in the right direction as she seeks to help others and better understand the world around her. Katherine’s strong upbringing set a strong foundation for her impressive future. As she stated, growing up with two “super rebellious” younger brothers and being the oldest of the three, she learned at an early age to be a very independent and strong leader, setting the example for her brothers as “the perfect teenager.” Katherine always worked hard and possessed the determination and motivation needed to accomplish her goals. Katherine’s hard work paid off in her proudest moment of being accepted to DU with the Daniels Fund Scholarship, realizing she could realistically be able to go to DU when financially she didn’t ever believe it was truly possible.
ReplyDeleteService learning and volunteer work is a huge aspect of Katherine’s life, though she regrets that since attending DU, she has had less available time to contribute to her passion and love of volunteer work and helping others. Katherine devotes her time to helping at the African Community Center near her home where she teaches refugee children English and assists them in completing their homework. At the Starlight Colorado Children’s Foundation, Katherine helps out at events and parties for children with terminal diseases. Katherine also works as a prosecutor in Teen Court helping kids to learn their lessons early on about the consequences of seemingly harmless teenage troubled fun.
Katherine’s innate tolerance, compassion, and empathetic understanding for others is not just contained to her service-learning activities, it spreads to all other areas of her life. If there was one idea that represented her, she said it would be “coexist.” If she was Wylie E. Coyote, she would not even chase Road Runner, she would leave Road Runner alone, stop trying to catch him, and become a vegetarian because that’s just the caring and generous person Katherine is. One role model of Katherine’s who also exemplifies these caring qualities is Audrey Hepburn. She admires her because of her elegance, and her ability to look for the good in others and love them.
Though Katherine is a caring and generous soul, don’t abuse her kindness or get on her bad side because though she may come off as a “mellow and meek person,” she “can be really harsh with words, direct, and confrontational, especially when it comes to people being bullied.” As she gave me fair warning, “it doesn’t happen very often, but when it does, watch out.” She specifically is most passionate about mental illness stigmas that come with illnesses such as depression and bipolar disorder. It really bothers her when people attack stigmas to people and generalize a population.
When you don’t find Katherine helping others and fighting for justice and morality, you can find her running, hiking, and camping, however, don’t plan on finding her indoors. She loves the outdoors and “cannot live without fresh air” which is a conflict for her roommate who likes the windows closed, Katherine “has to have the windows open.” You may, however, from time to time, find her indoors playing piano and singing, or reading a good book, which she probably prefers to do in the great outdoors anyway.
Katherine regretfully informs me that she “did not take much from last writing course.” She felt that the class did not achieve much in the area of writing but rather focused too much on rhetoric and arguments through videos and media form. She looks forward to having the opportunity to improve her writing in this class through meaningful experiences of getting out into the community and participating in service learning. Keep an eye out for ambitious and caring Katherine as she progresses on her path to achieve her goals of attending law school performing work on adoption law, and travelling various places, especially Africa.
Devon has a particular fondness for ants. Not the fire ants everyone dreads, but instead the little black ants that many people know to make the small, volcano-looking structures. He especially likes them in his kitchen where he has been known to feed them bread, which he thoughtfully crumbles into tiny pieces. He finds these insects incredibly industrious and never faltering as they work in teams to survive. Though his love for ants is slightly more passionate than most, the notice of detail and attention he gives to them is evident in many other parts of his life. Devon is detailed in little things, from not drinking iced beverages without straws to his interest in the precise green color of pistachio flavored ice cream. Even in listening to other students talk he can be found hearing and remembering little things about them and is very interested to learn more. He is very close with his mom and siblings and is currently a student working in the writing center on campus.
ReplyDeleteDevon is especially excited to be the SLA for our class because he enjoyed taking the class last year. He is interested in changing people’s demeaning perceptions about others experiencing homelessness. Though he does not make it to The Gathering Place as much as he would like, Devon is looking forward to spending time with various small groups from the class in trips there this spring. Because Devon loves school so much, he never wants to leave and is interested in becoming a professor in the future. He is currently studying poetics and Latin, but does not have a definite area in which he would like to teach. He is excited to work with us on our writing and to get more teaching and mentoring experience.
And if anyone is ever interested in bringing Devon yogurt, know that he enjoys the Greek style because it lacks the odd smell other yogurts can produce.
Here's Alexis's profile of Daniel:
ReplyDeleteWith a satirical, playfully sarcastic, realistic and honest writing style in which he believes that essay writing bares an author’s soul, Daniel parallels his writing with his personality. He creates one-liners and profound quotes that he includes in his works, yet the development of the work is the most important aspect to Daniel. He questions the need for a conclusion when he has explained everything in his work above. His writing abilities greatly outshine his indecisive shoe shopping skills where he spends the day attempting to find the best deal only to come home empty handed because he cannot possibly choose between so many options. Yet, Daniel is comfortable in his favorite shoes. Although life is constantly changing and thus so are his aspirations, at the moment Daniel desires to become a doctor and work with the Doctors Without Borders program after he receives his degree in bio-chem and philosophy. Also, Daniel enjoys documentaries, the film No Where Boy by John Lennon, and gardening. In his dorm room, Daniel has window plants which he is excited to start planting since the season is turning to spring. Daniel’s favorite time of the year is spring turning to summer, so he can witness his plants grow and bloom. Daniel has become an avid plant grower who enjoys experimenting with the variations of plants. Unlike the variations in shoes today, Daniel loves his scientific habit of cross breading plants to witness the magic of life. So many opportunities can be experienced not just in plant variations, but in the ways Daniel can choose to live his life and explore his many talents.
Ingenious, benevolent or perhaps a prodigy, Tyler Jones is unlike your typical college freshman. At the young age of 12, Tyler embarked on his first journey across the Colorado blue sky. His grandmother was one of the first female pilots in the U.S. and with a need to share her love of flying; she took Tyler along for an adventure. With the opportunity to experience a feeling of sheer vastness of the sky, Tyler continued to implement such ideals in his everyday life. Tyler has exemplified this ideal by working hard to break away from the barriers of small town, Elizabeth, and moving to big city Denver, to the prestigious University of Denver. Here he plans to pursue a B.A. in International Studies and Russian.
ReplyDeleteAs for study abroad, he looks forward to traveling to Russia. He states with enthusiasm, “Russia is completely different, I can’t imagine anything else far more removed from American culture. Relationships with strangers and friends are valued differently. In Russia, strangers are not spoken to but to friends you are loyal until death.” Mr. Jones cherishes honesty and one of his biggest pet peeves is liars. He wants to feel like he could trust the people and if not, he doesn’t want them around.
The love Tyler has for his parents is endless and indescribable. With a firefighter as a mother and a police officer for a father, he learned early on in life the importance of a hard work ethic, essentially pushing him to do well in all of his pursuits. Tyler has redefined what being an only child conveys. He helps his parents out in any way possible without being asked to. He especially looks up to his dad. He believes his dad did a wonderful job at being a father to a child, even though he grew up without a father himself. His dad is a source of encouragement and love for Tyler.
Tyler is a multidimensional young man with a deep passion for music. From a young age, he got involved in music with the saxophone. He states, “Playing and listening to music can help express a wide range of emotions.” Music gives him an ability to express himself in a way unlike other. Most importantly, it makes sense to him. Being in college has put a time constraint on his ability to practice but he certainly hopes to get involved with music once again.
Ultimately, Tyler Jones is a son, student, friend, and above all an individual who seeks love, education, and success. He believes the above are attainable and as he continues with his college years, I am certain he will be successful in his pursuits.
Here's Daniel's profile of Alexis:
ReplyDeleteSummer sees Alexis as a happy child indeed. Its radiant rays resonate over her, swimming 9 times a week—often sitting over the pool saving others. She quickly synthesizes information and can come up with an eccentric solution: blueberry yogurt over Colby jack cheese as her favorite food—putting two disjunct things together creating harmony. This food philosophy goes farther. She sees what her life has been and wants to bring its opportunities elsewhere: to others. Her worldview enables others in a very broken world as we are intertwined in the common family garment that is humanity. This stems from her family, which she discloses as the definition of her: both in denotation and in connotation. Within it she finds purpose. Within it she finds meaning. Within it she finds comfort. She helps her sister see everything that need be done to move forward—quickly, wearing her Nike shocks to aid in the cause. This one is going to go far and live a life that matters. Though many who study finance and management want to dominate an economic system for personal gain, she sees this earth differently. She does so she can start a foundation devised to see the marriage of opportunity and person and instill her Highlands Ranch has-been’s on a new platform of international will-be’s. Mother earth smiles on her child and will soon allow summer to come, metamorphisizing both Alexis and the world at large as soon as this period of scholastic spring soon fades.
